Educational Opportunities
The Louisiana Community and Technical College System Board of Supervisors is committed to employing highly qualified and educated faculty and staff. The Board of Supervisors establishes a practice of educational assistance for full-time unclassified employees of LCTCS and after one year of employment. Employees interested in taking courses at a Louisiana college or university and receiving educational assistance should refer to Policy #6.038, Tuition Assistance for Full-Time Employees.
A full-time employee, who has been employed at least one year in a full-time, permanent position also has the opportunity to take job-related undergraduate courses at any LCTCS System campus for up to six hours per semester and receive a full tuition exemption. Refer to Policy #6.037, Tuition and Fee Exemption for Full-Time Employees for further details.
Employees and children, dependents and spouses of employees may enroll at any LCTCS institution at a reduced tuition rate. IRS guidelines govern the definition of a dependent or spouse. For additional information, see Policy #6.039, Employee, Child or Dependent, and Spouse Tuition Reduction.
